DOGS FOR ADOPTION All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on all medical, and are house pets. They are now waiting for their permanent families to claim them!
JOSHUA This guy is SO cute! He is a terrier mix of some kind, favoring maybe a bearded collie or--?? He is about 35 lbs, about 2 years old. He was a stray, and we can't believe no-one ever claimed him! He is housetrained, well mannered, very loving, good with the other dogs, and does not chase the livestock (although he and our goat Rio sometimes have words-- but she starts it!). He does the most adorable "pretty sit"-- he sits up on his haunches, dangling his front feet when he wants something (and he usually gets it at that point!) He loves going for long walks in the woods. He is an active dog, but calm in the house. He likes to nap on the sofa and sleep in the bed at night. He needs a loving, active family that will spoil him rotten!!

HONEY Honey is a beautiful, super sweet hound! She weighs approximately 45 lbs, and is around 2 years old. She is housetrained, well mannered, and gets along great with the other dogs and cats. She looooooves to go for long woods walks (well, long woods runs!!) She loves everyone she meets and is just a fun all around dog. She does insist on naps on the sofa and lots of hugs!!

RILEY This adorable little guy is one and a half years old, and weighs in at a whopping 5 lbs! He is a long haired Chihuahua. He had been badly abused and starved when we rescued him; he only weigh 2.5 lbs when he came to us. He is terrified of men, and has still not warmed up to my husband. He loves the other dogs and plays well with them. He sleeps in the bed and is a total cuddle bug with me! He may need a female-only home unless he shows signs of warming to men. He is not well housetrained, even though we have a doggy door. And he is terrified to eat in front of people- he will run and hide if you offer him treats, and only eats if you set his food down and literally leave the room. What did they do to him to make him afraid to eat???? Riley will need a very, very special, patient, and understanding home. He has been through more than his share of trauma-- let's help him find a home where he never has to fear again! UPDATE 1/30/2007: It finally occured to me today that Riley HAS found his forever home-- right here!! He has met so many people, and he has shown nothing but fear to everyone but me. He loves his life here with the other dogs, and he has become a super cuddly, playful, upbeat little guy here... so he is staying. But I'm leaving his story up to show people that even tiny little dogs like this end up abused... no-one can ever believe it.

Suzette This darling beagle mix pup was discarded because of her deformed front leg. But she has no idea anything is wrong with her; she is active, playful, and a total snuggle bug!!!
1/5/2007: Suzette has been adopted into a wonderful family!!!!

This little fella is a 4 or 5 year old pomeranian/spitz mix, and weighs in at 15 lbs. He is such a cuddle bug!! He likes the other dogs, likes to play, is housetrained, loves to go for car rides... he's just a great little dog. He also loves kids that are past the toddler stage! He was abandoned at a friend's barn-- left tied out in the rain one 20 degree night. He will fourish in his own family; he is stressed here with all the other dogs to compete with. Would anyone even consider safehousing him while we search for his forever home??

COSMO Cosmo is a 7 month old min pin that we just rescued this past weekend (1/28/07). He has had a very traumatic life, so he needs a lot of socialization, patience, and love. He is afraid of women (how unusual is that!) but absolutely loves children! He is learning to accept the other dogs, and right now we are giving him time to just relax, learn how to be a dog, get his head straight and hopefully, learn to accept new people. 2/4/07: Cosmo is really opening up to us!!! He is learning how to relax around us, and is now playing like mad with the other dogs!! However, he goes into OCD mode when he sees new people: instant barking frenzy and panic. We'll keep working with him... lots of improvement in just a week!!
