7/18/2007: This poor dog was first spotted a couple of weeks ago at a construction site. He was
skulking around scrounging for any bit of food he could find, but was too frightened to let anyone get
close to him. He was dragging a piece of rusty chain that was fastened around his neck, and he was a
mess of missing fur, infected skin, and open sores.
Luckily, animal control was able to trap him in a dog trap. However, he was weak, ematiated,
dehydrated, and he barked at the officers with conviction... so he was slated to be euthanised. Once
again, I happened to be in the pound that morning and went to see him... and he responded to me with
tentative tail wags and shy kisses! Turns out he just has an aversion to a uniform!
So off to the vet he went. He is only about 1 1/2 years old; he is heartworm positive, and to our surprise
he is not suffering from mange; he is suffering from very long term malnutrition and neglect! He has a
horrible, painful, deep rooted ear infection in both ears. How long was he chained and starved? He is
basically still a puppy... did he ever know a day of happiness and comfort?? Who are these people who
do these things??
Bobby just came home here this morning. He is exhausted and mostly just sleeping at this point. He will
need a lot of care, good nutrition, and time to relax and learn to enjoy life. We would love to find another
safehouse for Bobby to recoup in, with fewer other dogs to compete with... can you help us find
someone to help him?

7/27/2007: Bobby is making big steps!!! We finally convinced him to come into the house last night for
the first time... everything is so new to him, and he is still frightened of the other dogs...
This morning, I brought him out when we did chores and I think he got to truly run free for the fisr time
ever! He didn't know what to do with all the space!! And I think we finally got a grin out of him!!!
